Notes From Dre Armeda’s WordCamp Presentation

I admit it, I’m not doing this post for you, dear reader; it’s for me. I’m attending a WordPress security workshop here at Wordcamp Atlanta 2012 at SCAD.

  • 75% of sites that are hacked are due to not keeping your website/pc virus scanning or core software up to date
  • limit FTP access; if you give it out, remove it when you down
  • check out your hosting providers:

Use one or many of the following:

  • WP Exploit Scanner
  • Bullet Proof Security
  • Login Lockdown
  • Securi Site Check Malware Scanner

Change your login name from ‘admin ‘ on ALL accounts.
