About Andrew Wilson Studios – Andy and Kris have known each other since mid 1990s through church and social activities. AWS has created wonderful family photography for the holidays (back when we were taking lots of photos of our newborn and ourselves) that we still display in our home.
When Notes From Kris’ business entity began, Andy was there to take the professional head shots for marketing matierial. If you have Kris’ business card, you are looking at Andy’s work.
When Kris started Cobb Social Media business group, Andy was one of the first invited. While WordPress was the medium of choice for AWS, he needed some guidance and training. The result, a beautiful portfolio of a small sampling of Andy’s work in Weddings, Commercial Photography, Executive Portraits and more!

About Dawn Electronics – long time boating friends (like FunLakeCharters.com), Woody and Wendy were ready for a web presence. Time are a little slower now with the economy, but businesses have found that just throwing away equipment is not worth the money.
Dawn Electronics services printers all around the Southeast and are not shy about their expertise. Their technicians travel to all surrounding states of Georgia to fix their client’s printers (and other technical equipment) – they’re in demand! But they didn’t have a web presence – no one could find out pricing, location (except via Google Maps), printer types services, etc. This should help them out.
Next step – lead generation website!

About Litter-Lifter - As you may or may not, know, Kris McInerny helps run www.CobbSocialMedia.com which brings in professional speakers to help the community learn more about social media – it’s free and it’s open. Mr. Meyerson found this Meetup online and walked up to Kris after one of the meetings. He had a dilemma. His eCommerce site didn’t work, the links were broken, the graphics were out of line with the kitty litter scoop lables – and he had no one who was responsive. In steps Kris. 6 weeks later, he’s accepting payments online from people who had heard of Litter-Lifter or were entirely new to the product. Litter-Lifter can be searched online for the video – just watch them match up against the “competition”. The other scoops lift out clean litter and waste your money. The others create dust and allergens. The Litter-Lifter has pointed (“peaked”) tines that sift easily through the good stuff, so you can lift out the bad stuff. Check them out!

About Advanced Protective Services – one of APS’ co-workers moved in just up the street from me. He saw me walking the dog and inquired about my home/work situation. From there, I guess I just wooed him with my charm and intelligence.
We started with due diligence of their current hosting accounts and made sure that all domains were redirected to the main URL/Domain Name/Web Address. We closed down one unused hosting account for a savings of $100/yr. Then I reviewed a local ad program subscription service for which they were paying $800/mo. After review, I found that it was not producing enough return on investment. Cha-ching! This money will be dog-eared for future marketing effort I reminded them…
APS is just a phenomenal business that ensures that standards are not just met, but exceeded. Other security companies employ APS to train their own security guards! APS will place (their own) guards at apartment complexes, construction sites, anywhere a dangerous situation can occur. Also providing executive protection services for celebrities, dignitaries, government officials, and radio personalities.

About Fun Lake Charters (Poly-Ah-Chi Girl) – Jim was a long time friend and fellow boater who came to me with his well laid out business plan to start a charter business on Lake Allatoona, GA. After getting approval from the Army Corp of Engineers and Holiday Harbor Marina, we started planning a fun AND professional (sometimes it’s difficult to blend the two subjective genres) Poly-Ah-Chi Girl type of website.
With logo design by Su Berland Design and Joomla Template Design by Liquid Anvil, we created a fun theme with a Hawaiian twist based on “Poly-Ah-Chi”. Ask Jim about the name.
Jim’s a fun loving guy but he’s also a licensed Coast Guard Captain serious about safety. His wife, Cathy is also certified. So you can be certifiably satisfied that Poly-Ah-Chi girl will take care of you and your crew. (Captains can also perform marriage ceremonies, did you know that?)
So, whether you’re going for a guy’s day out, a girl’s rendezvous, a romantic night out, a wedding reception or looking for a senior outing, FunLakeCharters.com is for you and your crew!

About Community Consulting Teams – (non-profit organization) – After I had quit my job and had started taking Project Management classes, I had the need to keep up with the tech side of things, so I started my own website and started looking for pro-bono work. Luckily I happened upon the CCT President (at the time) on LinkedIn looking for Joomla help. I responded online, but coincidentally, a friend of mine has just passed on an email request from a friend of hers a few days earlier needing help on that same CCT website.
Their previous site was running from a /joomla sub-directory and was experiencing problems (hackers). I wish we had kept a screen shot of the previous site, because we were able to move the site back to the root directory AND perform a few upgrades to bring it up to speed.
Now, even though they have a CMS they can update, they still call on me now and then to add an event or update a page. 2nd time around, we added the Facebook integration.

About North Georgia Leisure (online magazine) – I first found John through Facebook. Actually he found me. We had a friend in common from boating (Michele who runs www.GALakeView.com) so I accepted his invitation to become a ‘friend’.
Since then, we’ve become more than ‘Facebook Friends’ – we have officially and in-person met many times over coffee. I don’t recall how we got to talking about websites originally, but I can tell you this – he showed me his current FrontPage website (at the time) and I said “Yikes! I can do better than that! Please don’t make me update that dinosaur!”
So he let me run with it and after a few template adjustments, we settled on a WordPress StudioPress News Theme. What a difference!
John now manages it all himself with an occasional meeting here and there to help him through some learning curves.

About CollegeBridge – Su Berland Design asked for my technical WordPress assistance on this project, so Su was the Project Manager. She designed the logo and guided the design of the website. We employed the help of Mia Broder with www.Hedwig.com design to tweak some tricky CSS, but I technically directed this website towards completion.
I installed, secured and set up the plugins for Steven on his website, and soon I will train him on how to update it himself if his traveling ever slows down. But that’s OK, it’s up there and functional.
No SEO in particular was applied to this website, but I would say with the amount of relevant text and links provided by Steven, it should rank pretty high for “CollegeBridge empowering students”.

About SuBerlandDesign – Su and I met at the WordPress User’s Group meetup in downtown Atlanta. We were complaining about coming all way ITP during dinner time for a meetup. So…to solve our dilemma, we started a meetup group of our own called CobbSocialMedia OTP. Not in competition with WP Users Group, we felt we should start from ground zero with a general topic such as Social Media.
With that started, Su needed a WordPress website which she could control. She was heading for Israel in a few months and it needed to be done before then. First we had to gain control of the domain name, then we had to move the email from the old server to the new hosting environment. After that was straightened out, we put the website into Maintenance Mode (where only the home page shows up with Su’s contact information), then it took time between Su’s billable work to get content.
I think it turned out pretty decent! With the Twitter feed on the bottom, we added dynamic content. Next step is to set up her blogging area and connect it with her Facebook and LinkedIn business profiles. What a great team we make!
