About

Kris McInerny finds pleasure in helping out the local community.

I’ve been techie since college (since high school if you include Atari and Digital Diamond).  Started out as a programmer for the insurance industry, migrated over to PC development and then into website design and development in 1996.  I’ve strayed from the programming part of it mostly, and can still speak intelligently on database design, but have moved into management and WordPress development.  I know CSS, HTML, little bit of PHP / mySQL, WordPress, Joomla, TeamLab, dotProject, phpProjekt, MailChimp, HootSuite, Twitter, Facebook and the list keeps growing.

I love the raw energy of bringing a passionate team together and organizing a project to be delivered on time and on budget.  I am the master of killing scope creep, and can bore the heck out of you with charts and numbers.  Mostly, I like to connect with people and research the industry from the inside, out; really find out what’s behind the initial request of “I need a website”.  I mean, I’m happy to oblige, but if I can get you to look at the big picture, we can create something more meaningful to the market and your target audience (and hopefully your wallet).

What I love doing most is teaching people to help themselves for the most part.  I’m here to lean on when the waters get rough (or when you forget to pay your domain registration and emails and website go down simultaneously at 6pm on a Friday night when I’ve just poured myself a glass of wine – that’s for you Tim..)

I created CobbSocialMedia.com and CobbSM.com to bring businesses in need and social media professionals (including me) in the know together to help the local community grow.  I firmly believe that locally, we can help each other out; see the 350 Project which inspires half of the employed locals (50%) to spend money at three (3) locally run businesses per month. I heard about this from TopDogs.net, a Kennesaw/Roswell locally run and owned pet boutique store.

Just can’t stay away from education!  I spent ’93-’98 working on my Master’s in Business Administration from SUNY Oswego (with transfer courses at Kennesaw State University when I moved here to escape the cold).  Then when I quit my account /  project management, technical support web position in June ’10, I went back to KSU for Project Management Certification for 6 months.

Is that enough bragging or would you like more?

I can help you decipher technical jargon into normal everyday words.
Let me show you the ropes!
